Description:

The successful Inside Sales Specialist is a motivated individual who thrives in a role that is detail-oriented and focused on helping to meet the needs of others - clients and colleagues alike. This individual supports the Business Development team by preparing quotes, handling client and vendor requests via phone and email, assisting with proposal preparation, ensuring bid deadlines are met, researching sales opportunities, and finalizing awards. The Inside Sales Specialist excels in building relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders as a key representative of Active Security's highly experienced team. Serving as a critical link between business development, logistics, operations, and finance departments, this person regularly communicates with internal stakeholders as well as vendors, distributors, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bid responses and quotes for government and commercial opportunities
  • Opportunity research, evaluation and tracking
  • Inbound and outbound communication (calls, emails) pertaining to quotes and awards
  • Assist outside sales and business development representatives
  • Maintain high quality documentation, records, templates, and other reference material
  • Finalize awards and process bids for hand-off to operations and finance teams
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, vendors, distributors, and partners
  • Uphold a collaborative team environment dedicated to mission focus, respect, and adherence to Active Security’s mission, vision, and principles

The Inside Sales Specialist works from Active Security's location in Dulles, VA with occasional travel to other local offices and partner events.

Physical Demands: Employee is required to lift 20-50 lbs.

Travel: Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements:
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a related role, including customer service, sales, or technical support
  • Bachelor's degree, Military Experience, or Technical Training in a related field preferred
  • Strong communication skills, written, verbal, and digital
  • Highly organized and process-oriented
  • Customer-service focused with an ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Security and/or IT industry experience preferred
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft O365 and other SaaS systems and CRM / PSM Software applications
  • Ability to prioritize with minimal oversight
