Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

A Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for proactively maintaining and repairing all manufacturing plant machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth operations by performing routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and completing repairs to minimize downtime while upholding strict safety standards; ideal candidates will have proven experience working with industrial machinery and a strong aptitude for problem-solving, prioritizing quality and safety in all tasks. 

Responsibilities:

• Repair, install, and adjust industrial machinery and pipeline distribution systems
• Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance 
• Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion 
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventative Maintenance:

  Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of all production equipment to identify potential issues before they become major breakdowns. 

• Troubleshooting and Repairs:

  Diagnose mechanical malfunctions on manufacturing machinery, including identifying root causes and implementing necessary repairs efficiently. 

• Safety Compliance:

  Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment to prevent accidents. 

• Emergency Response:

  Respond promptly to equipment failures during production, taking immediate action to minimize downtime. 

• Documentation and Reporting:

  Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs completed, and any identified issues. 

• Continuous Improvement:

  Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance procedures and improve overall equipment reliability. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in machinery or other related fields
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload

Key Qualifications:

• Mechanical Aptitude:

           Proven experience working with industrial machinery, including knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems. 

• Troubleshooting Skills:

  Strong ability to analyze mechanical problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. 

• Hand and Power Tool Proficiency:

  Expertise in using a variety of hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks. 

• Safety Awareness:

  Commitment to safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment. 

• Problem-Solving Skills:

  Ability to think critically and creatively to resolve complex mechanical issues. 

• Physical Requirements:

  Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. 

Desired Experience:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with relevant maintenance software or computerized maintenance management systems 
• Basic welding and fabrication skills may be beneficial
