As an Art Director - Materials / Textures at Infinity Ward, you will be expected to lead and oversee the development of high-quality materials that align with the studio's artistic vision and technical standards. Your responsibilities will include ensuring consistency across all material assets, establishing best practices, and maintaining a cohesive visual identity. You will collaborate closely with Art Directors, Tech art and Rendering team, and other key stakeholders to drive innovation and achieve excellence in material creation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the material art team.
- Prioritize and assign tasks and initiatives to their team to ensure the best possible results, while aligning with Directors, Production, and OS managers.
- Help drive the planning and pre-production efforts of each assigned environment.
- Create documentation of processes for others to follow as needed.
Player Profile
Experience : Proven track record as an expert-level Material Artist or lead, preferably in AAA game development, with at least 8 years of experience in creating and leading material pipelines.
Technical Proficiency : Strong understanding of PBR workflows, advanced shader creation, material optimization techniques.
Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing technical and artistic challenges.
Portfolio : A portfolio showcasing high-quality, game-ready materials, highlighting both artistic and technical expertise.
Education : A degree in Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Tools : Familiar with modern level editor and editor workflows...Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop, UE4, Unity, etc.
