Overview:
The Field Operations Manager is responsible for leading daily field operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and excellence in customer service within the Charleston area. This role involves managing personnel, driving operational improvements, and contributing to the company’s growth goals through leadership, strategy, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, coach, and mentor employees, including technicians and customer service representatives (CSRs).
- Build and maintain a professional, motivated, and respectful workforce.
- Foster career development by identifying growth opportunities for field technicians and administrative staff.
Operational Oversight:
- Manage daily field operations, ensuring adherence to company-established procedures and policies.
- Monitor and improve operational efficiencies to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives.
- Oversee warehouse operations with a focus on inventory control and accuracy.
- Establish and communicate clear expectations for employees, subcontractors, and support staff.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Lead and champion health and safety initiatives across all field operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Strategic Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Sales Department to align labor hours, project margins, and client deliverables.
- Regularly review operational forecasts, projections, and reports to optimize performance.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, ensuring professionalism and strong client relationships.
Growth and Development Initiatives:
- Drive service growth initiatives, including demand service, planned maintenance contracts, and field efficiencies.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, and training of field technicians to support ongoing growth.
- Support financial objectives through inventory control, collections, and cost management strategies.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing employees in installation and service divisions.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong background in general construction, contract management, and client interaction.
Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
- Strong analytical skills to review operational performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn and implement new systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing schedules, including weekends when necessary.
Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
