Responsibilities will include:
Portfolio Strategy and Management – Pharma Focus
- Lead and execute a comprehensive global strategy for pharmaceutical direct materials, ensuring strategic alignment between market opportunities, customer needs, internal capabilities, and external sourcing partnerships.
- Develop & enforce robust portfolio management frameworks per industry segment, ensuring measurable alignment with corporate objectives, revenue targets, and market positioning.
- Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle management, from development & launch through post-market optimization, ensuring data-driven decision-making for maximizing portfolio value..
- Conduct rigorous evaluations of internal manufacturing, R&D, and service capabilities, ensuring optimal utilization of proprietary resources and strategic prioritization of high-value products.
- Maintain real-time oversight of global supplier capabilities and align with Strategic Supplier Management to eliminate redundancies, optimize procurement, and drive cost efficiencies.
- Lead data-backed decision-making processes for sourcing and production, ensuring quantifiable business outcomes from Make vs. Buy assessments.
- Own financial performance of the portfolio, ensuring strict P&L accountability, margin optimization, and cost efficiency.
- Continuously track sales performance, cost structures, and profitability metrics, leveraging insights to drive revenue growth and improve EBITDA.
- Develop and enforce KPIs and ROI-driven portfolio investment strategies, ensuring capital allocation aligns with business objectives and delivers measurable returns.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of global market trends, competitive landscapes, and technological advancements to inform proactive decision-making.
- Conduct granular market assessments, including competitor benchmarking, pricing analytics, and sales performance analysis to optimize market penetration strategies.
- Establish formalized market intelligence processes to ensure continuous assessment of customer demand, regulatory changes, and supplier capabilities, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Ensure absolute compliance with all global, regional, and local pharmaceutical regulations (GMP, ICHQ7, IPEC, ISO, REACH, FDA, USP, etc.), maintaining zero-tolerance for non-compliance risks.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Actylis regulatory leadership, ensuring product approval processes and maintaining full regulatory transparency across the portfolio.
- Support ongoing audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Drive strategic innovation initiatives, identifying unmet market needs and translating insights into actionable R&D roadmaps.
- Direct internal manufacturing and R&D teams, ensuring product development efforts are scientifically rigorous, commercially viable, and fully aligned with global strategy.
- Develop and implement structured processes for technology scouting, IP analysis, and commercialization, ensuring that innovation efforts lead to market-leading product offerings.
Required Experience & Knowledge
- Master’s degree or higher (MBA, MS, or PhD preferred) in Life Sciences, Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of proven experience in pharmaceutical excipient, direct materials, or API portfolio management with a demonstrated track record of global product strategy execution.
- Industry Leadership: Expert knowledge of global Pharma direct materials (excipients, APIs, processing aids), customer manufacturing workflows, and best-in-class portfolio management practices.
- Strategic Execution: Ability to develop and implement high-impact portfolio strategies that drive double-digit revenue growth and ensure sustained market leadership.
- Regulatory Mastery: Deep expertise in GMP, ICHQ7, IPEC, ISO, REACH, FDA, USP, and other key regulatory frameworks.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to support and direct sales organizations, with a strong record of driving successful customer engagements and closing high-value deals.
- Technical & Financial Expertise:
- Strong technical acumen to engage with R&D, regulatory teams, and customers on complex product applications.
- Advanced proficiency in market research, business case development, financial modeling, and investment analysis to drive data-backed decision-making.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders at all levels, and execute multiple high-priority initiatives under tight deadlines.
- Competitive Intelligence & Market Foresight: Strong command of market intelligence tools, predictive analytics, and industry benchmarking methodologies to stay ahead of competitors.

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
