Position Summary
The Global Portfolio Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing the global portfolio of nutritional ingredients across multiple regions. This position will drive alignment between portfolio strategies and business objectives, ensuring efficient decision-making and maximizing returns on innovation and commercial efforts. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with deep market knowledge, contributing thought leadership and strategic vision within the company.

Position Summary

Responsibilities will include:
Portfolio Strategy and Management – Focus on Nutritional Ingredients:
- Identifying and developing opportunities for distributing branded ingredients through strategic partnerships.
- Conducting a global review of key product and service offerings, ensuring alignment between market opportunities, customer needs, and internal capabilities.
- Developing and implementing global portfolio strategies by industry segment, in alignment with company goals and market trends.
- Overseeing product lifecycle management, from development through post-market support, to optimize asset value across the portfolio.
- Identifying emerging market opportunities and refine existing products to meet evolving customer demands.
- Assessing internal product and global R&D/manufacturing capabilities to optimize use of internal resources.
- Working closely with the Strategic Supplier Management team to ensure transparency of internal capabilities across the global asset base.
- Monitoring portfolio performance, driving financial results by improving sales, cost efficiency, and optimizing investments across the portfolio.
- Staying informed of market trends, competitor products, and technological innovations to guide portfolio decisions.
- Conducting in-depth market assessments, including pricing, positioning, and sales performance, to fine-tune global strategy.
- Collaborating with the strategic sourcing team to prioritize supplier relationships and target profitable market and customer opportunities.
- Identifying potential targets for M&A or in-licensing opportunities in the nutrition ingredient space.
- Ensuring portfolio activities comply with regional and global regulatory standards.
- Working with regulatory bodies to secure product approvals and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Leading innovation efforts by identifying unmet customer needs and leveraging internal and external R&D resources.
- Partnering with R&D teams to guide product development initiatives that align with global portfolio strategy and market demand.
- Travel required, approximately 30-40%, primarily domestic (US), with occasional international trips.
Required Experience & Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5 years of experience in portfolio management, product development, R&D, or strategic sourcing within nutraceuticals, nutrition ingredients, or food science.
- Strong expertise in the global nutrition ingredients market, including regulatory and competitive landscapes.
- Proven experience in managing product lifecycles from inception to post-market.
- Technical knowledge to collaborate effectively with R&D and engage with customers on product offerings.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Financial acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project management capabilities, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficient in market research, business case development, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with regulations, intellectual property, and market access strategies in the nutrition ingredient space.

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
