Description : General Counsel

SUMMARY :
General Counsel, reporting directly to the company’s Founder, plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive legal guidance across all facets of the company. Actively collaborates with various departments to align legal strategies with business objectives, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of legal awareness and compliance throughout the Company.

- Legal Advisory and Strategy : Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of legal matters including employment law, healthcare regulation, litigation, contract law, and corporate governance.
- Contract Negotiation and Review : Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring they comply with legal requirements and serve the Company’s best interests.
- Litigation Management : Help oversee and manage litigation matters, including working with external counsel, developing legal strategies, and ensuring effective resolution of disputes.
- Regulatory Compliance : Help ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, ACA, and other relevant federal and state laws affecting the healthcare industry.
- Employment Law Guidance : Help advise on employment-related legal issues, including hiring, employee relations, terminations, and compliance with labor laws.
- Policy Development and Implementation : Assist in developing and implementing company policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Corporate Governance : Provide counsel on corporate governance matters.
- Risk Management : Identify and evaluate legal risks, and advise on risk management strategies to protect the Company’s interests.
- Legal Research and Analysis : Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on various legal issues, providing clear and concise recommendations to the company Founder and other executives.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Collaborate with different departments to provide legal support and ensure alignment of business strategies with legal requirements.
- Legal Representation : Represent the Company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and other legal matters as required.
Requirements :
QUALIFICATIONS : REQUIRED :
Law Degree and admitted in good standing with CA State Bar. Maintain the requirements for bar license by attending necessary continuing legal education courses. Prior experience in healthcare lawa, document drafting, litigation and business or corporation law. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects without supervision.
