What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Lines Processor position at Acuity Insurance?
Acuity is seeking a Personal Lines Processor to be responsible for the input, approval, and issuance of policy changes. This position directly handles written and verbal changes made by agents, insureds or lending institutions. This position also involves the entry of Personal Lines new business information and indexing of various Personal Lines documents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Input policy changes received electronically or via paper into the Personal Lines Policy System for a full complement of personal lines coverages for all states. Approve and issue changes within authority.
- Input policy changes received via direct telephone contact with agents and insureds on the Personal Lines Policy System for a full complement of personal lines coverages for all states. Approve and issue changes within authority.
- Input Personal Lines new business data into the Internet Rating System.
- Process diaries, future dated changes, and expert system applications from the group Personal Lines Processing mainframe queue.
- Prepare certified copies of policy contracts for litigation.
- Sort and distribute all Personal Lines incoming mail.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
Property/casualty insurance background preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills that lend well to a telephone-based customer service environment.
- Willingness to provide telephone coverage until 6:00 p.m.
- Ability to learn and recall detailed information.
- Computer knowledge with data entry background. Ability to achieve required keystrokes per hour on alphanumeric data entry with minimal errors.
- Mathematic skills involving basic computations.
- Thorough, accurate, and productive under conditions with fluctuating workloads.
- Ability to identify, interpret and translate verbal and written requests within outlined authority and the ability to enter data into designated computer fields.
- Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work extra hours as needed.
