JOB SUMMARY

The Electrical Technician is responsible for a broad range of electrical maintenance and repair, as well as inspecting and testing existing distribution systems and identifying/repairing circuit faults. The Electrical Technician reports directly to the Electrical Superintendent/Foreman. The Electrical Technician will be responsible for providing a wide range of HR-related support, advice, strategies, and planning that play a key role in the success of the Company’s mission.

Job Location: Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base, Iraq

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and repair Life, Health and Safety (LHS) issues
• Installation and repair of electrical distribution systems to include the facility service entrance conductors starting at the low voltage side of the transformer
• Install, inspect, maintain and repair of all low voltage distribution system inside facilities to include but not limited to interior/exterior lighting, receptacles, motors and motor control circuits
• Inspect, test and repair direct buried cables and in underground ducts and conduit
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions and recommend repair procedures necessary to correct defective equipment.
• Perform pre-acceptance inspections of electrical systems and document any findings.
• Adherence to OSHA and NFPA requirements, especially near high voltage equipment.
• May supervise a team of Local Nationals and ensure installation and repairs of electrical systems are in accordance to National Electrical Code (NEC) and/or British Standards (BS 7671)
• Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair facilities that are rated at less than 600 volts.
• Position does include supervision, training, and mentoring of Local National employees
• Maintain tools and equipment and perform various clean-up and housekeeping duties
• Responsible for other duties assigned by management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent is required

• Valid journeyman license or proof of training/competency or certificate of completion from Electrical Apprenticeship program
• Minimum four (4) years’ experience documented as an electrician required
• Prior Military and/or AFCAP/LOGCAP Experience
• Ability to wear all appropriate/required Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Good working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and/or British Standard (BS 7671)
• Ability to read design drawings and wiring diagrams is required.
• Experience working with voltages up to 4160 volts is preferred.
• Experience in a commercial or industrial environment is preferred.
• Must successfully complete the physical examination.
• Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.
• All employees must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS

• Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
