What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician/Receptionist (Swing) position at Acuity Vision & Eyewear Center?
Acuity Vision is looking to hire a new member to join our team! This position will be a combination of technician and front desk/receptionist duties including patient work-ups, imaging, scheduling, answering phones, processing payments, taking contact lens orders, insurance verification and chart preparation. Previous medical experience is required, optometric or ophthalmological experience is preferred, and knowledge/understanding of medical and vision insurance is a huge asset. We are a relatively small office with all staff members cross-trained across multiple departments.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, hard-working, willing to constantly learn and improve, and is a team player. We pride ourselves on providing excellent patient experiences (check out our Google reviews!) so great customer service skills are a must. Must be computer savvy as we use EHR and electronic communication. Must be reliable with scheduled hours and proficient in cash handling and basic math calculations (percentages, adding/subtracting multiple numbers).
We do require working evenings on Wednesdays (until 7pm). Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
