Aculabs is currently looking for individuals who are excited about billing and coding. Our billing department offers a great schedule and full training - prior experience or degree not required!
Available Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Collects and verifies patient billing information on a daily basis. Posts insurance payments, investigates denials and follows up with insurance companies for non-payment. Maintains all documentation relative to billing inappropriate email network folders for future reference.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Creates or updates patient profiles based on personal data sheets provided by the client.
- Verifies eligibility on insurance websites such as Navinet, Change Health Care, NJMMIS, etc.
- Scans and files documents into the company network folder.
- Notes insurance rejections of charges, researches reasons for rejections, corrects accounts or appends previously submitted billing information, and issues corrected bills. Continuously works on aged A/R reports to resolve overdue accounts.
- Works in a normal office environment. Position requires extensive phone and computer work.
Requires sitting for extended periods of time.
- Assist in training new hires to ensure a smooth integration into the team.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any one of the following will be considered:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Entry level position
- Must be familiar with computer software i.e. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be proficient with telephone, facsimile, and email
- Candidate must possess excellent communications skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans and/or Medicare procedures, and diagnosis coding preferred.
DISCIPLINE
- Employees that fail to follow the work rules stated above or fail to use the appropriate PPE will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
