Weekend Caregiver for Teen with Autism & ADHD – $25/hr
We are seeking a dedicated and patient caregiver to provide one-on-one support for a 16-year-old boy with ADHD and Autism. This role focuses on life skills development, supervision, and engagement in recreational activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with life skills training, including hygiene routines (prompting and supervision as needed).
- Teach and reinforce basic chores and independent living skills.
- Engage in physical activities such as playing ball, going to the gym, and outdoor recreation.
- Provide transportation to activities using your own vehicle.
- Supervise and ensure safety during outings and home-based activities.
- Document daily progress and activities using a designated app.
- Maintain a calm and patient approach, using de-escalation strategies when needed.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must have a safe and appropriate home or apartment where care can be provided.
- Experience working with individuals with Autism and ADHD is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain patient and supportive in challenging situations.
- Availability for weekend hours, every other weekend overnight stays, and 1-2 weekday evenings.
- Taking a self-defense course is recommended but not required.
