Description
Responsible for assisting the QA Director, helping to ensure the department’s work production proceeds in concert with the planned schedule, alerting the supervisor when problems arise; assists in monitoring the work of all employees, helping to coach and train for improved performance; recommending corrective action to supervisor as appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in identifying any impediments to completing work assignments (parts shortages, tool/equipment needs, etc.) and takes appropriate actions to obtain or correct deficiencies.
- Assists in providing and/or arranging for less skilled employees to receive training from more knowledgeable employees so as to broaden their and the department’s skill base.
- Assumes administrative duties (i.e., maintenance of employee time records, production reports, etc.).
- Is able to operate machines/use tools and perform any job assignment within the department, performing work assignments within the department on an as needed basis
- Assists the QA Director in ensuring all Company approved policies and procedures are maintained within the department, particularly safety and hazardous material protocols.
- Assists in coaching and counseling employees having performance or behavioral issues, keeping the supervisor fully advised and recommending corrective actions as they may be required.
- Cooperates and coordinates with other departments to ensure there is a well-organized and timely flow of work.

- Maximizes utilization of resources, both machine and labor to ensure quality production and customer satisfaction; maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Establishes work instructions and problem solves at the work center for effective repeatability and provides recommendations & input for process improvements
- Maintains safe operations through 5S and by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Education & Experience Requirements:
Requires an Associate’s degree in Business Management and three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) integrated systems environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsibilities include supervision, training, and assisting employees.
Physical Demands
Moderate physical activity requiring agility and dexterity, including walking, standing or bending; and lifting or moving objects.
