The Auto Auction Lot Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the organization, security, and efficient operation of the vehicle lot at an auto auction facility. This role ensures that vehicles are properly received, inspected, staged, and ready for auction while supervising lot attendants and maintaining safety and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:1. Lot Organization & Vehicle Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the movement, parking, and staging of vehicles in the auction lot.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly tagged, documented, and positioned for auction.
- Monitor and maintain an accurate inventory of all vehicles on the lot.
- Manage a team of lot attendants, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
- Communicate with auctioneers, transporters, and other departments to ensure smooth vehicle flow.
- Conduct visual inspections to verify vehicle condition, ensuring all auction-ready vehicles meet presentation standards.
- Identify and report any vehicle damage, missing keys, or other issues.
- Work with detailing and maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are properly prepared for auction.
- Ensure all vehicles are secured to prevent theft or unauthorized access.
- Implement and enforce lot safety policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
- Report any security concerns, hazards, or incidents promptly.
- Assist in auction-day operations by coordinating vehicle flow and ensuring auction lanes are organized.
- Oversee the check-in and check-out process for vehicles entering and leaving the lot.
- Work closely with auction management to optimize vehicle staging for efficient sales.
- Previous experience in vehicle lot management, auto auctions, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts, tow trucks, or other vehicle-moving equipment (preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Majority of work conducted outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
- Requires walking, standing, and moving vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
