ABOUT THE ROLE
The K12 Director will be under the guidance and supervision of the K12 VP. The Director will assist in the communication, implementation, management, and spearhead guidance for K12 Specialists in their designated territory/market. Consistent communication with K12 manufacturers to achieve initiatives, goals, objectives, and driving sales/targets from aspects of both commercial and commodity avenues of business. Additionally, the Director will be involved in HR related issues within their designated area. i.e., hiring, termination, and performance improvement.
The region for this role is Central US.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the K12 Team to meet the requirements of their Job Description, i.e.: LLO interaction, food show participation, commercial bid additions, commodity drawdown, manufacturer/regional correspondence, etc.
- Correspondence with Top 2000 national districts (focus on top 250) to drive sales alongside K12 Specialists on behalf of K12 focused manufacturers – including state show/conference attendance.
- Work in cooperation with Bid and Commodity Teams to ensure the K12 Specialists are focused on bid coding, bid awards, and scrubbing of the bids in a timely manner.
- Coaching, training and mentoring will be a major priority for our team's success, the Director will be the catalyst to engage their team.
- Actively working with the K12 team in the field, monitoring techniques, strategy, and effectiveness.
- Attend State and National Conferences projecting the Acxion Brand, Strategy and Professionalism.
- Contributes to the overall quality of the K12 division by developing, reviewing, and implementing sales plans, service plans, and making recommendations for improvement to ensure maximum service delivery.
- Support the execution of the manufacturers plan with the Market Directors to successfully manage expectations of K12 focused clients.
- Perform additional duties as required.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision to prioritize/plan your schedule.
- Able to balance multiple situations with a strong ability to prioritize workload.
- Able to work well with others, build and maintain a team atmosphere and provide exceptional customer service.
- Effective skills in: time management, problem solving, negotiating, decision making, conflict resolution
- Maintain a high level of professionalism.
- College degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
- Must have over 5 years of previous sales/brokerage experience (K12 preferred)
- 5 years of management experience in directing the workflow of others and/or direct reports.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce CRM.
- Highly concentrated mental and visual alertness.
- Major portion of the day is spent talking either in-person, by telephone and/or email handling K-12 opportunities and resolving issues.
- Communicate effectively via virtual, in person, or phone.
- Visual acuity.
- Ability to hear and receive detailed information.
- Some light physical demands.
- Travel, as needed, to satisfy company and customer needs.
