What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Technician position at Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services?
We are seeking a dedicated individual with a background in psychology, education, social work, experience in the ABA field, or working with children (such as babysitting or nannying). As a Behavior Technician, you will provide 1:1 support to a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities in their home. This role focuses on teaching new skills in areas such as communication, daily living, and social interaction, while addressing challenging behaviors that inhibit safety or independence-such as hitting, biting, and kicking-using evidence-based strategies to teach effective replacement behaviors.
We are currently hiring a part-time Behavior Technician for afternoon hours (3-8 pm, Monday through Friday), with flexible scheduling options available. Compensation ranges from $20 to $26 per hour, along with paid time off (PTO), sick leave, drive time, and mileage reimbursement. Additionally, we offer a performance-based incentive system to reward excellence and provide a clear path for career growth. Qualifications include: reliable transportation and car insurance, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, strong written and communication skills.
Professional development is a cornerstone at Ad Astra. We provide access to a comprehensive 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program, which is the first step toward earning your RBT credential through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Completing the certification process will result in a $2 per hour pay increase.
