Ad Astra is seeking dedicated professionals with backgrounds in psychology, education, social work, ABA, or childcare-including babysitting or nannying-to join our team as a Behavior Technician. In this role, you will work one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental challenges in their home environments. You will enhance their communication, daily living, and social skills while addressing behaviors such as hitting, biting, or kicking through the use of evidence-based methods.
We are recruiting part-time Behavior Technician positions for afternoon shifts from 3-8 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling options available. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $20 to $26 per hour and includes benefits such as paid time off (PTO), sick leave, drive time, and mileage reimbursement. A performance-based incentive system is also in place to reward excellence and support career advancement.
At Ad Astra, professional development is a priority. We offer a comprehensive 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program as the first step toward earning your RBT credential through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Completion of the certification process results in an additional $2 per hour increase in pay.
Qualifications include a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, professionalism, creativity, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and strong communication skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing evidence-based interventions to develop communication, social, and adaptive skills while addressing challenging behaviors such as biting, kicking, and hitting.
- Providing empathetic support to help clients achieve their goals while working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Teaching alternative behaviors that promote safety, independence, and skill acquisition.
- Accurately collecting and documenting data to drive effective, individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborating with families to offer guidance and support in applying ABA strategies in everyday situations.
