Primary Purpose :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Consultant with expertise in new construction projects. This position will represent the Facilities Division in reviewing mechanical systems associated with new construction. The consultant will provide expert guidance on mechanical systems design, installation, and optimization. This role involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, Facilities Maintenance personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure all mechanical systems meet project requirements, industry standards, and are installed properly.
Essential Functions :
75%) Conduct detailed assessments of project requirements and develop cost-effective mechanical systems solutions for new construction projects.
20%) Collaborate with project teams to integrate mechanical systems design into overall building plans, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
5%) Provide technical expertise on HVAC systems and controls, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and other mechanical systems to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
Review construction plans and specifications to identify potential issues and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
Conduct site visits to inspect mechanical systems installations, troubleshoot issues, and provide on-site guidance to contractors and construction teams.
Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to mechanical systems in new construction to provide innovative solutions and recommendations.
Education and Experience :
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Proficiency in software tools and technologies relevant to mechanical systems design and analysis.
Skills & Abilities :
Proven experience in mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning, particularly in new construction projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and controls, plumbing systems, building codes, and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
