Job Overview :

We are seeking a Technical Writer with experience in utilities, construction, and CAD to assist in updating and refining a Utilities Standards Manual . The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Word , including tracking changes and redlining , and will have experience working with technical documentation related to utility infrastructure and construction standards .

Key Responsibilities :

• Review approved redlines and accurately update the corresponding sections in the master Utilities Standards Manual .
• Ensure all modifications align with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize Microsoft Word’s tracking changes and redlining tools to manage and document updates.
• Cross-check updates against CAD drawings, technical specifications, and other reference materials .
• Maintain consistency in formatting, terminology, and structure across the manual.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and CAD designers to clarify technical details as needed.
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure completeness, clarity, and accuracy of all updates.
• Manage version control and maintain an organized record of all edits.
• Required Qualifications :
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in the utilities, construction, or engineering industry .
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word , with expertise in tracking changes, redlining, and document formatting .
• Experience working with technical manuals, specifications, or utility infrastructure documentation .
• Ability to interpret and integrate information from CAD drawings and schematics .
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
