Animal Care Assistant

Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8-hour shifts between 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Wednesday and Saturday: 8 a.m. – 12 noon
- Saturday availability is required (one Saturday off per month)

We're looking for a compassionate and dependable Animal Care Assistant to support our clinic's daily operations and provide high-quality care to our furry patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care:
- Feed, bathe, and exercise animals
- Weigh patients and take temperatures
- Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision
- Restrain animals safely during exams and procedures
- Provide first aid and support pre- and post-operative care
Clinic Operations:
- Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and exam rooms
- Sterilize instruments and prepare equipment
- Assist with surgical procedures, including instrument handling
- Move and transport animals safely
- Perform basic clerical duties as needed
Communication & Observation:
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or injury and report findings
- Communicate with veterinarians regarding patient progress and any concerns
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs independently
- Must work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to a drug-free workplace
