Summary:
The Disaster Resource Permit Technician will assist with substantial damage documentation and process and manage permits for repairs, renovations, and new construction projects related to hurricane recovery. This role is essential in ensuring timely permit approvals and supporting the overall recovery process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist applicants in completing necessary permit applications related to hurricane recovery.
- Review permit applications to ensure completeness and compliance with basic building and safety standards.
- Provide information on code requirements and recovery guidelines to applicants, including contractors, homeowners, and community representatives.
- Maintain organized records of all recovery-related permits and track their status.
- Facilitate communication between applicants, inspectors, and examiners to expedite the recovery process.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Permit Technician or in a related role, preferred or strong administrative assistant related skills.
- Familiarity with permitting processes, building codes, and hurricane recovery protocols, preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, especially in supporting community recovery efforts.
Background Requirements:
Employment for this position is contingent upon successfully passing a background check to ensure compliance with the Town of Longboat Key’s safety and integrity standards.
