Basic Function: Supervises, drives and coordinates activities of assigned Custodian staff in the daily maintenance and cleaning of contractual buildings. Under supervision of the project Manager.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: Project Manager
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervises assigned custodians in cleaning contractual buildings.
- Trains assigned staff in various cleaning techniques.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of staff on the job site.
- Maintains equipment
- Maintains vehicles and for schedule vehicles when repairs, oil changes and inspections are needed.
- Prepares time studies on the employees performances
- Drives employees to and from worksite in agency vehicles.
- Keep vehicle log sheets daily.
- Conduct daily routine quality control inspections of employee’s performances in the field in accordance with the statement of work in the contract.
- * Establishes, maintains, and facilitates interdepartmental relations with office personnel and quality control inspector.
- Performs custodial functions outlined in Janitor/Custodian position description.
- *Performs all other duties as assigned.

Recruitment:
Position requires a high school diploma and five years’ experience in the janitorial field.
2 years of Supervisory experience.
Must have a valid state driver’s license and a good driver’s record.
Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructional materials, operation instructions, book, catalogues, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. While performing the duties of this job, the supervisor is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The supervisor frequently is required to sit. The supervisor is occasional required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Conditions:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of cleaning methods materials, equipment, and practices.
- Ability to instruct custodian’s employees in the performance of manual tasks requiring moderate strength.
- A thorough knowledge of the operation of all mechanical cleaning equipment.
- Ability to prepare written reports and other correspondence relation to the job as necessary.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with subordinates as well as other supervisors and management personnel.
- Ability to partner with clients individually, in family, to help them mobilize resources and their inner capacity to address problems they face.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with other team members, other Agency resources and outside services in addressing client needs.
- Ability to perform in job recruiting process of recruitment of new hires/candidates.
