Primary Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Supervisor, Traffic Engineering, the Assistant Traffic Engineer / Traffic Engineer performs, prepares, and reviews complex traffic engineering projects, including road safety audits, signal design, traffic operations/safety analysis, ADA & APS improvements, neighborhood traffic management for traffic calming, parking studies, and/or urban roadway design related to Traffic Engineering.
- The Assistant Traffic Engineer / Traffic Engineer must demonstrate a strong capacity for exploring, identifying, designing and implementing new and proven safety countermeasures in a diverse transportation environment.
- The successful candidate must have considerable knowledge in urban roadway safety principles from a traffic engineering perspective.
- The successful candidate must be skilled in CAD design software and have experience in plan production.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering or a related Engineering field is preferred.
- Idaho P.E. License preferred.
