Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Environmental Engineer to join our team at the Ada County Highway District. As an Assistant Environmental Engineer, you will play a key role in managing stormwater green infrastructure projects and serving as the stormwater quality representative on capital project teams.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of environmental sciences and civil engineering as they relate to design, repair, and construction of stormwater facilities with an emphasis on green stormwater infrastructure. Hydrology and hydrogeology knowledge and experience are also desired.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Environmental Manager, perform professional engineering work in the environmental and civil engineering disciplines.
- Manage the water quality engineering program, stormwater green infrastructure projects, and serve as the stormwater quality representative on capital project teams.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with irrigation districts, contract engineers and designers, state and local boards and commissions, property owners, the public, and other District employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, natural sciences, and/or landscape architecture.
- Professional level engineering and environmental sciences experience.
- Possession of an active Idaho Engineer Intern (EI) certificate or Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) initiated within one year.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience may be acceptable.
