The Ada County Highway District is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for its employees. We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Engineering Lab Technician or Sr. Engineering Lab Technician in our Material Testing Lab.
About the Role
This position involves conducting sampling and testing of soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete to ensure compliance with minimum district standards and specifications for construction materials. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to interact effectively with district inspectors and contractors.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conducts sampling and testing of soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete in the field and laboratory.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of necessary documentation for each test.
Additional Responsibilities (Sr. Engineering Lab Technician):
- Supervises and performs technical materials tests.
- Liaises with district inspectors and contractors to resolve any issues that may arise during testing.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid Idaho driver's license required.
- Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs frequently.
- Must obtain WAQTC certifications within 6 months.
- Shift change by 24-hour notice and rotating weekend work may be required.
