Mechanic Position in Fleet Department
Ada County Highway District is currently accepting applications for the Mechanic position in the Fleet Department. This role offers a competitive hourly wage range of $25.10 - $28.90, with opportunities for advancement based on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will perform journeyman-level maintenance and repairs on vehicles and construction equipment, with a focus on meeting high standards of quality and safety. During winter operations, they must be available to respond to emergency call-outs as required, working varied shifts including nights and weekends.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a thorough understanding of automotive mechanics, including methods, materials, tools, and standard practices. They should also possess knowledge of heavy-duty construction equipment maintenance, including hydraulics and diesel engines, as well as experience with auto electrical system diagnosis and repair. A valid Idaho driver's license and Class A CDL are desired but not required. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary skills and abilities may be acceptable.
