Job Title: Project Inspector / Sr. Project Inspector
Location: Boise, Idaho area
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive hourly wage and excellent benefits package.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Inspector:
- Monitor contracts and projects to ensure work meets District standards, policies, and specifications.
- Inspect steel and concrete structures, coordinating surveying and materials testing as needed.
- Prepare technical data for contract changes, monthly pay estimates, quantities, change orders, and overrun justifications.
- Coordinate resolution of engineering, construction, right-of-way, utility work, and safety problems.
- Conduct weekly inspections of storm water pollution prevention plans.
Sr. Project Inspector:
- Provide technical traffic control and ADA accessibility guidance and assistance to Project Inspectors.
- Assist in monitoring contracts and projects, ensuring work meets District standards, policies, and specifications.
- Participate in pre-construction conferences on assigned projects, inspecting steel and concrete structures as needed.
- Coordinate surveying and materials testing, preparing technical data for contract changes, and monthly pay estimates.
- Coordinate resolution of engineering, construction, right-of-way, utility work, and safety problems.
- Conduct weekly inspections of storm water pollution prevention plans.
Qualifications:
Requires an extensive knowledge of road construction, storm drainage construction, construction surveying, project management, project scheduling, basic engineering mathematics, traffic hazards, and stormwater pollution prevention standards.
Must be able to obtain Responsible Person, Traffic Control Technician, and Traffic Control Supervisor Certification within 3 months of employment, and all WAQTC and IQP Certifications within 12 months.
A valid Idaho driver's license is required, and completion of college level courses in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
