What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traffic Analyst position at Ada County Highway District?
**Job Title:** Traffic Analyst
This is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for analyzing and developing traffic safety on all Ada County residential streets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Traffic Engineer in conducting traffic surveys, tabulating results, and providing public inquiry support for traffic-related concerns.
- Work closely with residents, Neighborhood Associations, and other government agencies to address traffic concerns on local streets.
- Obtain, organize, and analyze traffic data, investigate citizen concerns and requests.
- Prepare field layouts of striping, signs, and other roadway safety features, and prepare necessary work orders for approval.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to work as a liaison between departments and with the public.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and possess some knowledge of engineering practices and techniques.
- Proficient in Word and Excel; Access database and GIS experience a plus.
- Knowledge of MUTCD and ACHD policies desirable.
- Must obtain Traffic Control Technician certification within one year of hire.
- Valid Idaho Driver's License required with ability to operate ACHD vehicles.
