Job Summary:
The Hotel and Restaurant Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hotel's guests, staff, and property during the 3rd shift. This role involves patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to incidents, and enforcing security policies to maintain a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrolling and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular patrols of the hotel's and restaurant's interior and exterior, including hallways, lobbies, dining areas, parking lots, and other common areas.
- Monitor and control access to the hotel and restaurant, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter.
- Observe for signs of suspicious activity, theft, or any other security concerns.
Surveillance:
- Operate and monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems.
- Review surveillance footage in real-time and retrospectively to identify and report any suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly to security alarms and investigate disturbances.
Incident Response:
- Respond to and manage incidents, including guest disturbances, medical emergencies, fire alarms, and security breaches.
- Detain and escort individuals involved in criminal activities or violations of hotel and restaurant policies.
- Provide assistance to guests and staff during emergency situations.
Access Control:
- Verify the identification of guests and staff entering the premises during the 3rd shift.
- Maintain a secure environment by enforcing access control procedures.
Reporting:
- Document and report all incidents, accidents, and observations in detailed security logs.
- Prepare and submit incident reports to the Security Manager.
- Communicate effectively with law enforcement, emergency responders, and hotel management as needed.
Customer Service:
- Assist guests with directions, information, and general inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns regarding security with tact and professionalism.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in security, especially in a hospitality environment, is preferred.
- Experience with surveillance systems and security technology.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Knowledge of hotel and restaurant operations and security procedures.
Certifications:
- Security Guard certification or license as required by local laws and regulations.
- First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
Working Conditions
- Work primarily during the 3rd shift (overnight), including weekends and holidays.
- Perform duties in various environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Requires standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.
- Must be physically capable of responding quickly to emergencies.
