Wabash Ave., Chicago, at 6 : 00 AM to the Fort Sheridan Army Reserve Base in North Chicago and back, as well as. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, experience with floor stripping, waxing, carpet shampooing, and restroom tile maintenance, or be willing to learn through training.Key ResponsibilitiesDriving Responsibilities (Approximately 2 Hours Per Day)Meet at 1863 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago, at 6 : 00 AM to pick up the team.Safely transport a crew of 11 employees in a 15-passenger van to Fort Sheridan and back.Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the van.Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts.Communicate effectively with team members regarding schedule changes or transportation needs.Floor Care & Maintenance Responsibilities (Remaining Work Hours - Physically Demanding Role)Operate heavy-duty floor care machines, including : Floor scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.Wet / dry vacuums and high-speed polishing machines.Tile and grout cleaning machines for restroom floors.Strip and Wax Tile Floors : Remove old wax and finish using stripping chemicals and floor machines.Neutralize and clean floors before applying new wax or sealant.Apply multiple layers of high-quality floor finish for durability and shine.Use burnishing machines to maintain floors as needed.Carpet Care & Shampooing : Vacuum carpets thoroughly to remove surface debris.Pre-treat stains and high-traffic areas with appropriate cleaning solutions.Use commercial carpet extractors and shampooers to deep-clean carpets.Allow carpets to dry properly to prevent mildew and odors.Restroom Tile Cleaning & Maintenance : Scrub and sanitize restroom tile floors using specialized cleaning solutions.Remove dirt, grime, and buildup from grout lines.Apply sealant to protect tiles from moisture and stains.Ensure restrooms are consistently clean and meet hygiene standards.General Floor & Facility Maintenance : Sweep and mop hard surface floors daily.Buff floors as needed to maintain shine and cleanliness.Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management.Physical RequirementsThis role is physically rigorous and requires the ability to : Lift, push, and maneuver heavy floor machines (up to 50 lbs).Perform repetitive motions such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.Work in environments that require continuous physical exertion.Handle industrial cleaning chemicals safely and follow all safety protocols.Qualifications & RequirementsHigh School DiplomaValid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations).Ability to drive and maneuver a 15-passenger van safely.Experience in floor stripping, waxing, carpet shampooing, and tile cleaning preferred (willing to train the right candidate).Strong ability to operate and control floor care equipment.Physical endurance and ability to handle physically demanding tasks.Reliable and punctual with strong communication skills.Willingness to work Monday-Thursday, 6.5 hours per day, starting at 6 : 00 AM, with flexibility for Fridays when needed.Why Join Us?Meaningful Work : Be part of an organization that provides employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities.Competitive Pay : $18 / hour for a steady schedule.Training & Growth : Gain valuable skills in floor care and facility maintenance.Positive Work Environment : Work with a supportive and dedicatedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Ability and desire to understand complicated software applications and their possibilities / limitations.
