What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher - First Shift position at ADA Traffic Control?
Position Overview:
As a Dispatcher for ADA Traffic Control, this position is responsible for:
- Scheduling and coordinating crews for scheduled jobs from Sunday to Saturday
- Coordinate crews for emergency calls when they occur
- Assists coworkers and other dispatchers as necessary
- Performs geographical location spotting, map reading and provides detailed instructions to contractors and fieldworkers
- Support fieldworkers with any concerns that may arise and delegate appropriately as necessary
- Support contractors to the best of their ability
- Forward any new business inquiries to the Business Manager
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
- A basic concept of geography (able to read maps) and basic direction skills are required
- Communicate effectively with others over the telephone, email or in person
- Demonstrate effective listening skills
- Successfully identify and resolve issues that may arise
- Work under minimal supervision
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain accurate records
- Analyzing and resolving problems
- Preparing written communications (e.g., responding to emails)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a call center environment
- Ability to follow procedures and regulations
- Ability to remain calm in a stressful situation
- Fluent in English
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Incredible multitasking abilities
- Great communication skills
- Ability to rapidly input information into a data entry system
- Great customer service skills
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Monday to Friday 4:00am to 12:00pm, weekends/overtime as needed
