Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors who are 18 years old or older to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for children. You will lead activities, provide guidance, and support campers in their personal growth and development while fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times during activities and events.
- Plan, organize, and implement engaging activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and educational programs.
- Provide mentorship and support to campers, encouraging positive social interactions and personal development.
- Assist in the management of daily camp operations, including setting up activities and maintaining equipment.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members regarding camper progress and any concerns.
- Administer first aid or CPR when necessary and maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that respects diverse backgrounds and promotes teamwork among campers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare or related fields such as babysitting or daycare is preferred.
- Skills in sports coaching or classroom management are advantageous.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to effectively engage with children of various ages.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
- Experience working with youth is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire children.
- A positive attitude, patience, and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
