What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-8 Academic Success Coach-Adairville Elementary School position at Adairville Elementary School?
The K-8 Academic Success Coach will support teachers in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies to improve student learning outcomes. This role focuses on providing professional development, coaching, and data-driven instructional support to enhance student achievement in alignment with Kentucky Academic Standards. The coach will collaborate with educators, administrators, and district personnel to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Monthly meetings would take place with the instructional department and ASC’s .
Certification Requirements:
- Valid K-5 or 6-8 Kentucky Teaching Certificate
Other Requirements:
- Minimum of Five (5) Years Teaching Experience
- Proven ability to train and support educators using diverse strategies to enhance instructional programs aligned with Logan County Schools' vision for academic excellence.
Length of Contract:
- Determined by the current school calendar adopted by the Logan County Schools Board of Education
- 10 Extended Days per year
Reports to School Level Principal and District Instructional Team
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support & Coaching:
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement effective instructional practices with district purchased HQIR.
- Model use of instructional platform (Open-Up Resources)
- Provide classroom-based coaching, modeling lessons, and offering actionable, in-the-moment feedback.
- Assist in the implementation of research-based strategies, including differentiated instruction and data-driven decision-making.
- Support teachers in designing and delivering rigorous and engaging lessons aligned with Kentucky Academic Standards.
- Contact/ Organizer of SB9
Professional Development
- Plan and deliver professional development sessions on best practices in teaching and learning.
- Facilitate teacher collaboration through professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Ensuring common assessments are being administered per pacing guide
Data Analysis & Student Achievement (MTSS, Otus, iReady, KSA)
- Analyze student performance data to identify trends, inform instructional decisions, and support intervention strategies in a timely manner (Tier 1 Data and Tier II/ Tier III Data)
- Collaborate with teachers to set student learning goals and monitor progress.
Collaboration & School Improvement
- Work closely with school/district leadership to align coaching initiatives with school improvement plans.
- Serve as a resource for teachers, providing materials, strategies, and research-based interventions.
- Foster a positive and collaborative culture that supports professional growth and instructional excellence.
