We’re looking for a reliable Benefits Verification Coordinator to work with our healthcare staff and referring offices to help us provide first-class care to our patients. As one of the first people our patients will talk to, we need an energetic, team player attitude with a focus on excellent customer service. You will process incoming referrals in a timely manner, verify insurance benefits and obtain authorization when needed, schedule new and existing patients, and communicate appointment details to referring offices, all while building an excellent rapport with our patients and the multidisciplinary teams of the hospital and referring offices.

Description

Responsibilities
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations
- Documentation of patient's co-payment to be obtained at check-in
- Obtaining referrals for patients required based on patient's insurance plan (Tricare/HMO/Workman Comp)
- Communicate respectfully and efficiently with all team members, hospital staff and referring offices regarding patient appointments
- Ensure appropriate information is updated and entered correctly in the EHR
- Answer and route phone calls in a professional manner
- Backup the front desk receptionist
- Perform other tasks and related work as required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- 2 years of work experience verifying benefits and obtaining authorizations
- Ability to utilize Excel
- High school Diploma/GED
- Bilingual (Spanish) - Required
