- Adam Lippes is a luxury womenswear brand specializing in American sportswear with a modern take on luxurious fabrics and impeccable fit. We are looking for a Designer to support Founder Adam Lippes, and the Creative Director of the company. This individual will be responsible for designing in all categories, managing sampling and development overseas and domestically, and working closely with our produce development teams, sales and merchandizing.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to conceptualize new collections each season, which includes conducting research, designing essential silhouettes, and ensuring the products align with client requirements while considering target price points and seasonal trends.
- Support the Creative Director in managing the design department, including delegating tasks to assistant designers, interns, and others.
- Work closely with the Product Development manager on the creation of domestic and international tech packs and styles.
- Communicate with local and overseas factories and vendors to facilitate the production of four collections annually.
- Prepare presentation boards and line sheets while managing overseas tech packs for both woven and knitwear styles.
- Attend all fittings.
- Collaborate across departments including production, sales, and fabric sourcing.
- Conduct regular store visits to stay updated on emerging trends and competitive assortments.
- Partner with the assistant designer and atelier manager to issue cut tickets, track photography, and oversee styles from sketch to final production.
- Recruit and supervise interns.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in luxury design.
- Ability to design based on concepts with a keen sense of style and color.
- Proficient in hand sketching both figurative and flat styles.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong aptitude for working independently to meet tight deadlines and project demands.
- Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of draping, sewing techniques, silhouettes, fabrics, graphics, and surface treatments.
