The Host/Hostess is the face of our restaurant, responsible for creating a positive first impression for all guests. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, seating them efficiently, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet guests warmly and professionally as they enter the restaurant.
· Manage reservations, both in-person and over the phone, with accuracy and efficiency.
· Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage the waiting area effectively.
· Answer guest inquiries and address concerns in a timely and professional manner.
· Ensure a clean and inviting entrance area.
· Provide menus and answer any initial questions guests may have.
· Seating & Operations:
· Optimize seating to ensure even workload for wait staff.
· Guide guests to their tables, ensuring a smooth and efficient seating process.
· Maintain an organized and accurate seating chart.
· Monitor restaurant activity and adjust seating arrangements as needed.
· Assist with opening and closing duties, as needed.
· Teamwork & Communication:
· Collaborate effectively with other front-of-house staff, including servers and bartenders.
· Communicate guest needs and preferences to the waitstaff.
· Maintain a positive and professional attitude, even during busy periods.
· Assist with side work as needed, such as cleaning, stocking, and folding silverware.
· Additional Responsibilities:
· Learn and memorize the menu and daily specials.
· Be knowledgeable about restaurant policies and procedures.
· Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a restaurant setting, particularly in a host/hostess role, preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive and outgoing personality.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
