Sedgwick County is searching for a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to shape the county’s digital future and lead impactful technology solutions across 40 departments.In this executive role, you will set the strategic direction for IT, ensuring our technology infrastructure not only meets today’s needs but also anticipates tomorrow’s challenges. Partnering with leadership, you will assess IT capabilities, identify opportunities for growth, and implement forward-thinking solutions that enhance efficiency, security, and service delivery for our community.With a $19.9 million budget and a team of 77 IT professionals, you will foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. If you excel at leading transformational change and driving high-performance teams, we invite you to bring your expertise to Sedgwick County.Organizational Strategy Serve as a key member of Sedgwick County’s Leadership Team, shaping and executing long-term IT strategies that support county-wide initiatives.Chair the Technology Review Board (TRB) to assess and address the technology needs of multiple departments and agencies.Stay ahead of emerging technologies, fostering innovation to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance service delivery.Evaluate current IT capabilities, identifying strategic improvements that boost performance and align with organizational goals.Proactively identify and mitigate risks to organizational data, infrastructure, and technology systems.Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, including HIPAA, CJIS, and PCI, protecting sensitive information.Lead an annual review of the County’s IT Continuity of Operations Plan, ensuring readiness for any potential disruptions.Develop and enforce policies that safeguard county infrastructure, define best practices for resource utilization, and enhance cybersecurity measures.IT Division Leadership & Performance Management Oversee and optimize the IT department’s budget, ensuring smart resource allocation for enterprise-wide infrastructure improvements.Lead and mentor senior IT managers, providing strategic direction, clear objectives, and professional development opportunities.Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track success and drive continuous improvement.Spearhead change management initiatives, engaging stakeholders across the county to ensure seamless technology adoption and organizational alignment.Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or a related field. Ten years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology. Two years of experience managing enterprise-wide projects or programs. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.Preferred Qualifications : Fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology management and leadership.
