Each year we provide academic, vocational training, and placement services to approximately 9,000 young people from ages 16 to 24 primarily in a residential setting. Our academic and career technical training programs are accredited and lead to national industry-recognized credentials.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to manage our Academics and Career Technical Training functions. This role provides oversight of student academic and career technical training programs, ensuring student progress, achievement, and completion of the Job Corps program.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the Education & Training Department staff
- Provide students with industry-recognized training and credentials leading to full-time jobs, higher education, or advanced training
- Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data
- Motivate and empower staff to perform their job responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective time-management and delegation skills
- Foster a supportive work environment, recognize staff accomplishments, and proactively address staff performance concerns
- Establish meaningful relationships with elected officials and promote a positive image of the Center and Job Corps
- Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH
- Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school required; Master's degree preferred. A minimum of two years' experience in teaching or a related field required. Valid in-state teaching certificate preferred. Prefer Job Corps or related program experience.
