What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Selector position at Adams Beverages Nc Llc?
The Order Selector or Picker is responsible to utilize voice pick system to pick and build orders in a timely and accurate manner. The Picker is a non-exempt position.
This role will report directly to the Director of Operations, Warehouse Managers, Branch Managers, VP’s and Ownership.
Primary Objectives/Role and Responsibilities:
- Report to work on time and in appropriate attire each and every work day
- Clock in and out utilizing biometric time clock each and every workday
- Maintain knowledge of code dating systems and rotation requirements of all products/suppliers
- Utilize voice pick system to pick and build orders
- Always follow the pick path dictated by the voice pick system to ensure a safe and efficient work flow
- Always strive to keep an efficient and accurate pace while picking; continuously check and verify accuracy throughout the picking process
- Minimize product damage while picking; report any damaged product that was damaged prior to picking/handling it; neatly stack all damaged product in designated areas.
- Assist loaders, wrappers, or any other function of the warehouse when needed and as assigned by the shift supervisor.
- Perform all end of shift housekeeping duties as assigned
- Immediately report any accident, near-miss, or other incident to shift supervisor
- Notify management of any equipment that is not operating efficiently so that it can be addressed
- Use and operate company issued equipment safely ie: using horns and other safety protocols
- Perform daily routine equipment checks
- Attend all meetings as required
- Complete/attend all training sessions as assigned
- Any other duties as assigned.
Development of the Position
- The position will require continuous education and product knowledge. As Adams Beverages adjusts changes or acquires new brands, this position will need to understand these brands.
- Completion of all assigned ABU courses that relate to the position and safety.
- Remain versed on all aspects of Route Accounting System, Warehouse Management and Mobile applications as they apply to the role (Encompass).
Competencies & Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Enthusiastic, Team player interested in positive company growth
- A clear understanding of Company policies and the ability to adhere to them
- The ability to meet all standard employment requirements.
- Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required
- Ability to read code dates, product labels, and racking labels
- Basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting
- Fork Lift Certification preferred
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
