ACET is seeking a Procurement Specialist in our Havelock, NC location.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to support procurement across multiple programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Costpoint, contract negotiations, and procurement processes, with daily involvement in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to ensure compliance. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency in our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration:
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, finance, contracting, and compliance departments to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Act as a point of escalation for resolving procurement and FAR/DFAR-related challenges.
- Support multiple procurement programs.
- Works with various programs and departments daily (Program Management, Planning, Quality, engineering, shipping and receiving, Operation Management, Field Teams and manufacturing teams,).
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports on procurement activities, cost savings, compliance metrics, and supplier performance.
- Must be well versed in Costpoint system, MS Word, Excell, PowerPoint and MS Project.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions and compliance documentation.
Contracts and Procurement:
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts, purchase orders, and amendments.
- Collaborate with Program and Operations Managers to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
- Maintain procurement project tracking, providing weekly updates to Program Managers and supporting GOV IPT meeting updates.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to ensure adherence to contractual terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
FAR and DFARS Compliance:
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor and document compliance with government contracting requirements, including socio-economic and small business subcontracting goals.
- Provide guidance to the procurement team on interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements.
- Address compliance issues proactively and work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions when necessary.
Shift: This position is for 1st shift. Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain activities, or a related role, with a focus on FAR and DFARS compliance.
- Experienced and well versed in Costpoint.
- Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations, including small business requirements.
- Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex contracts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Requires High-level communication to include verbal and written.
- Strong Time Management and Priority Setting.
Preferred:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
- Familiarity with procurement software, Costpoint and ERP systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs independently when needed.
- Position requirement will involve hours of sitting or standing at desk.
