ACET is seeking an Airframe/Hydraulic Mechanic in our MCAS New River (Jacksonville, NC) location.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions.
- Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations.
- Maintain aircraft hydraulic and structural systems.
- Perform corrosion Prevention and treatment.
- Perform carbon fiber, sheet metal and composite repairs.
- Perform Hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems.
- Service ground support equipment. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on all ground support equipment.
- Uses blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers’ drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.
- 4 years aviation experience, 2 years rotary wing experience
- Two (2) years’ experience in a primary MOS from OccFlds: 615X Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent-General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- U.S Citizen and must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common access card (CAC).
- Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
- Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
- Able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
- Knowledge on carbon fiber, sheet metal and composite repairs
- Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 60 days after assignment.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
- Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
- If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
- If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
- Travel may be required
