GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of a road crew, performs a variety of manual or semiskilled tasks related to road building and maintenance of road building equipment and facilities.
DUTIES \ RESPONSIBILITES:
- Work productively and safely to meet production goals.
- Inspect, clean and maintain equipment daily.
- Report any malfunctions or equipment failures to Superintendent or Shop Manager.
- Constantly be aware of hazards and other people or vehicles in surrounding area and work zone.
- Willing and able to follow instructions.
- Accurately and completely fill out the end of the week equipment report.
- Assist with any cleaning, handwork or additional needs as necessary to get the job done.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- The ability to lift and carry heavy loads on a day to day basis;
- The ability to understand and carry out verbal and or written directions paying attention to detail
- The ability to stand for long periods of time. (10-12 hours)
QUALIFICATIONS:
