General Description
Under general supervision of a road crew superintendent, perform pilot car & flagging operations on a construction project and assists in traffic control to enhance and promote a safe work zone.
DUTIES \ RESPONSIBILITES:

Under general supervision of a road crew superintendent, perform pilot car & flagging operations on a construction project and assists in traffic control to enhance and promote a safe work zone.
DUTIES \ RESPONSIBILITES:
- May guide and direct dump trucks into a work zone
- Flag motorists to warn them of obstacles or repair work ahead.
- May assist in setting out signs and cones around work areas to divert traffic.
- May drive pilot vehicle when necessary
- Safely managing traffic through active work zones while standing, grasping a stop/slow paddle and utilizing radio communication.
- Loading and unloading work zone equipment, sometimes weighing up to 40 pounds, to/from the company vehicle.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with fellow workers and the general public.
- Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends.
- Drive the pilot car vehicle in the controlled work zone.
- Transport employees to job sites
- Have the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Must have a Drivers License with an acceptable driving record
- Able to understand and carry out verbal and or written directions
- Pay attention to detail
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Flagger or Work Zone Traffic Control Certification
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
