What Success Looks Like In This Job
Under general direction of the Air and Space Port FBO Manager the Aviation Business Specialist plans, directs, and monitors all aspects of the FBO's customer service functions, including customer requests, complaints, and resolutions. The incumbent serves as the first Customer Service contact for all FBO services and is also responsible for assisting the FBO Manager on all related duties to promote and disseminate information to FBO Airport Customers to make Colorado Air and Space Port the premiere choice in general aviation and aerospace. This position is Temporary.
Examples of Duties for Success
- Work as part of a team to provide everyone with a friendly welcome to the airport.
- Provide a welcoming, customer-focused experience for all airport visitors through effective communication and teamwork.
- Coordinate concierge services, including hotel reservations, ground transportation, catering, and customs appointments.
- Assist pilots with access to airport and weather information, portals, and computers.
- Process customer purchases, fuel transactions, and account activities accurately, ensuring detailed record-keeping and timely collections.
- Support aircraft ground operations by marshalling, wing walking, placing chocks and cones, and assisting line service personnel as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and supplies within the facility, conducting regular inspections and taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Oversee UNICOM and radio communications while adhering to established protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly financial reconciliations, inventory reporting, and related administrative tasks.
- Operate company vehicles and assist with luggage handling as needed.
- Identify and recommend improvements to procedures, standards, and practices to enhance overall service quality.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications for Success
- Professional communication skills and a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook/Excel.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and to work calmly, efficiently, and effectively in a time sensitive environment.
- Ability to successfully complete training programs in a timely manner.
- Ability to use a computer and email, including passing computer-based training modules.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, angles, degrees, time).
- Preferred: knowledge of radio procedures and protocols.
- Preferred: general knowledge of aviation.
More Qualifications for Success
- Experience:
- Preferred: Two (2) years’ experience in aviation, FBO, hospitality, customer service or another related field.
- Education and Training: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. College degree preferred.
- License or Certificate:Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.

- Regularly required to sit, walk, and drive vehicles. Will require the use of hands, fingers, to handle or feel objects, control, or reach with hands and arms

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Availability to work rotating weekly schedules and rotating nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Wear Airport supplied uniforms at all times.
- Wear Airport supplied personal protective equipment as required
