To assist in the coordination and perform payroll-related duties and activities.
This anticipated hiring rate for this role is $25.808/hour. The full salary range for the position is $25.808/hour - $36.131/hour.
Examples of Duties for Success
- Review and assist in input of all additions, deletions, and changes of payroll information in JDE.
- Review of employee timecards and adjustments for accuracy in UKG.
- Assist in the review and correction of pre-payroll registers.
- Assist in processing garnishments, wage assignments, and IRS levies.
- Assist in paying all deductions, including insurance and garnishments; complete corresponding reports; and balance deduction reports.
- Assist in research and document gathering for various audits and monitoring the departmental earnings reviews.
- Maintain filing and scanning system, according to record retention requirements.
- Responds to requests for financial employment information; provide documentation for workers comp, agencies needing verification of earnings or employment; supervisors and employees requests for information.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service; assist employees, departments, and outside sources with payroll-related issues.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications for Success
- Learn pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Understand basic principles and procedures of bookkeeping, accounting and financial record keeping and reporting. Apply the principles and practices of payroll accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Operate modern office equipment including computer equipment.
- Make changes, additions, and deletions necessary for an accurate payroll.
- Perform a variety of balancing and calculation tasks with accuracy.
- Calculate and process paychecks.
- Demonstrate integrity and trust through credibility, reliability, commitment, loyalty and ethical behavior. Maintain confidentiality of payroll information.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Skill in providing superior customer service via telephone, email, in person or on Teams.
- Participate in personal growth opportunities, and attend trainings designed to enhance capacity to bring new skills and ideas to the job and the organization.
- Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
More Qualifications for Success
Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible payroll/accounting/office experience.
Education and Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent. College-level coursework in bookkeeping, accounting or related field preferred.
License or Certificate: None.
Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
