What are the responsibilities and job description for the Juvenile Detention Officer position at Adams County Juvenile Detention Center?
Essential Functions:
Detention Officers provide daily supervision, security, and care through facilitating behavioral programming for youth aged 17 and younger in a secure detention facility. This involves working with various outside organizations such as law enforcement agencies, lawyers, transport personnel, county, state and federal personnel and agencies, and community members in a positive and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor's degree or have earned a minimum of 60 credit hours at an accredited university, college, or community college, with the expectation of obtaining a bachelor's degree within three (3) years of employment at the Juvenile Detention facility. $2000 Tuition Reimbursement assistance provided once complete. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and be a resident of Illinois within 90 days of hire. Will be required to meet all other general qualifications for non-supervisory personnel established by the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts (AOIC), including submission of the Probation/Court Services Employment Application and certification of eligibility by the AOIC.
