What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Tech I - Temp PPACA - 165246 position at Adams County?
Provide customer service to the public and county staff regarding the policies and procedures of the Assessor's Office in person, by phone or electronically. Answer questions within scope of authority and refer inquiries to proper source. Position may perform any portion of all of the following functions:
- Perform general clerical tasks for a department (Real Estate, Personal Property or Mobile Home) of the Assessor's Office. Type routine correspondence, make copies, and file various documents and forms. Process mail as required.
- Answer phones and route calls appropriately.
- Search computer files, maps, records, and other sources to obtain information requested by public or staff.
- Perform searches for chain of title, easements, and lot dimensions using range, subdivision, and plat books.
- Receive and process data entry for building permits for 10 different municipalities.
- Process ownership changes and research mineral accounts.
- Set up and process new subdivision plats.
- Scanning of documents.
- Assist other departments within the Assessor's Office with various clerical tasks.
- Process Senior Property Tax Exemption and Disabled Veterans Exemption programs. Input exemption information and doing necessary mathematical calculations and knowledge of program guidelines.
- Maintain and updates filing system on businesses located within the County.
- Assign and distributes tax numbers to new business.
- Issue authentication forms for transporting mobile homes over the roads. Verify all mobile home moves into or out of the County.
- Process title changes and abatements. Calculate mobile home values and pro-rated taxes.
- Maintain and update mobile home ownership records. Add and/or delete properties from tax base.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Experience:
- One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience required.
- One (1) year of experience in an Assessor's office is preferred but not required.
- Education and Training:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, including specialized training and college courses.
- Required to attend and pass Introduction to Assessment as scheduled by the Assessor.
- License or Certificate: None required
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
