Our Client, a rapidly growing chemical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team on a contract to hire basis. The Accountant will report to the VP of Finance and will run full cycle corporate accounting while helping to establish a cost accounting function. The business has been growing quickly and has plans to continue expanding via M&A. The Accountant will be part of a small dedicated professional finance team and will have the opportunity to expand their skill set over time. Our client offers:

Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and account, bank & intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare monthly Revenue, Flash reports and Balance sheets for your manager's review.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual reporting and tax packages;
- Fixed asset physical inventory audit, tax packages, and help upload budgets.
- Assist the VP Finance with the documentation and maintenance of processes and procedures for the Accounting function.
- Collecting and analyzing data about company operational costs
- Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
- Developing and analyzing cost standards
- Carrying out Price, Volume, Mix analysis (PVM)
- Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Supporting other company staff as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the responsibilities of the job
- CPA and cost accounting experience a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
