What we’re looking for
Adams Supervisors are expected to support management and department functions to provide friendly service to our valuable customers, ensuring that each experience reflects the commitment to providing quality products that Adams is known for. For the Dairy Supervisor, this means overseeing the selection, handling, and presentation of dairy products, ensuring freshness, quality, and compliance with safety standards. By managing inventory, supporting team development, and maintaining an organized and appealing dairy section, Dairy Supervisors help enable our teams to deliver exceptional experiences to our customers.
Your Day-to-Day
- Oversee daily operations of the Dairy section, delegating tasks to associates to support smooth workflows and excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, including proper handling, labeling, and storage of dairy products.
- Train and mentor new Grocery associates by providing hands-on guidance, demonstrating proper techniques, sharing company policies, and fostering their professional growth.
- If assigned, participate in job interviews and/or disciplinary discussions.
- Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock, minimizing waste, and maintaining an appealing and organized dairy section.
- Engage with customers, offering knowledgeable recommendations and answering questions about dairy products, brands, and storage methods.
- Communicate effectively with the Grocery Manager and team members, coordinating daily priorities and addressing any operational challenges.
- Ensure department cleanliness and organization, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Support company initiatives by fostering a collaborative and service-focused team environment that reflects Adams Fairacre Farms’ commitment to quality and excellence.
What you bring to the Farm
- Professional grocery or dairy experience.
- Knowledge of dairy product handling, storage, and quality standards.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational skills, including inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and vendors.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate and set the example of Adams’ culture and values.
- Work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers.
- Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity, and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee department operations
- Ability to communicate and exchange information so others will understand
- Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods combined with frequent movement in a fast-paced environment
- Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
