Yard associate

General Purpose

The main purpose of the Yard Associate is to keep the yard organized and clean, Load and unload customers who are picking up and dropping off equipment and unload trucks delivering parts and equipment.

In addition they may also be required to perform repairs on units and assemble new products as well as organizing the yard.

FLSA Status : Non-exempt

Reports to : Power Equipment Service Manager

Duties

• Ensure that customer and co-workers receive an outstanding friendly experience, maintain outstanding standards, have a solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
• Prioritize tasks, be well organized and stay on schedule with tasks
• Keep all areas of the department clean and organized : Yard, Shed, Benches, service bays
• Make sure tools are in good working condition and report any problems to management
• Test machines once set up or repair is completed to ensure good working condition

Physical Requirements

Employee must be physically able to :

• Ability to operate and use all equipment and tools necessary in the department
• Ability to move or handle merchandise generally weighing 50-75 pounds
• Bend, squat, stretch, climb and lift
• Ability to quickly make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage one’s time
• The ability to read and understand information presented in writing
• Ability to use critical thinking to solve problems, handle conflicts and serve the customer
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
